Animated Classics = "Home"
Here is my contribution for the art Auction called Art Blocks for Ghana !
The theme was 'HOME'.
When I was a kid, My sister and I would get dropped off at nanny's house very early in the morning.... one of the greatest things I remember when waking up was watching animated classics like Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, Pinocchio, Dumbo, and Fox and the Hound to name a few. My fav was Jungle book. To me, these animated classics are like home!
Keep on creating!
Medium: Magic Sculpt, (I find sculpting in that material very difficult) Letters were sculpted in Magic sculpt as well.

Brownstones to Red Dirt
*Edit--Beautiful drawing was done by Willie Real
I wanted to shout out to the world about an amazing documentary that was so heartfelt and so inspiring....made by two colleagues at Blue Sky Studios, Chad Walker and Dave Lamattina... called Brownstones to Red Dirt . This documentary is about a pen pal program that focuses on a group of at-risk sixth graders living in Bed-Stuy, Brooklyn and orphans, of the war, living in Freetown, Sierra Leone..It's through the pen pal program that these kids get to teach one another the beauty of life, their life struggles, and differences .
The amazing Vicki Saulls, my sculpting colleague, has organized an art auction Brownstones to Red Dirt Blog to raise money to further help the kids, in both Brooklyn and Sierra Leone. Many talented artist came together and drew pretty pictures on wooden postcards, which will be auctioned off on Ebay, March 6th-March 13th starting at 8am. All the money raised will help build a library for the kids in Brooklyn, and a new school for the kids in Sierra Leone! If you want to bid, Please save the date for this auction! If you want to donate other ways please go here and contribute! Brownstones to Red Dirt Donate
My husband Ryan, and I are working extremely hard on a sculpture for this art auction, so keep an eye out for it! ;) Much love and respect! Alena

Well well well! A sculpt!
This sculpt was inspired by a beautiful drawing, by one of the most humble artist I know, Peter de Seve. I work with him on a daily bases and sculpting from his designs is so energizing!
This piece will be donated to Beautiful Grim , which is an art fundrasier to help a friend who had to go through chemotherapy and a bilateral mastectomy for fighting breast cancer. There will be an event either in LA or New York for the auction.
I'll see if I can post the link to the drawing that inspired me to sculpt this. It's in Peter's sketch book, if you have that handy...if not, you can always support him by buying it!
